Live Music Now: Musician-in-residence

Live Music Now works in partnership with schools to spark musical lives. With a focus on music provision for children with additional needs, their participatory performances enable children to get up close to professional musicians. Their musician-in-residence programmes focus on engagement, communication, pupil choice and voice.

Musician-in-residence programme

Live Music Now offers musician-in-residence programmes of up to a year in specialist schools for children and young people with additional needs.

Residencies involve regular half or full-day visits by a professional musician, who will plan activities tailored to your school. Residencies address pupil engagement, communication and social skills, alongside musical development.

They support high-quality teaching by developing staff skills, knowledge and expertise, and can be used as targeted support for pupils' very early communication and social skills.

Art Forms: Music
